Surname
Search
Each MGS
member is allowed to submit up to 10 surnames for inclusion in the
MGS Surname Search Engine. The
results of each search will give you:
- A list of all
MGS members who have submitted the particular surname which you have entered.
- Contact
information for the member whose name appear in the results. When a member does
not have an e-mail address, only the "snail mail" address is shown.
- A list of all
the other surnames that have been submitted by each member in your results
list.
- Each member's
e-mail address and their web site address. These items will be highlighted and
"clickable" depending upon the browser software you are using.
Please
note that MGS members have ancestral ties all over the WORLD. Our surnames are
NOT limited to Mobile, to Alabama, to the South or even to the United
States.
If your search is successful and you decide to contact an MGS
member to see if you have common ancestors, we suggest you tell them that you
found this data on the MGS Web Site in the MGS Surname Search Engine. It could
increase your chances of receiving a reply if they know you found them in a
place where they had submitted data.
Check back here periodically for we
receive new Surname Submission Forms from MGS members almost daily. The updated
database will be uploaded regularly.
